MapuaWorld 2004 In Retrospect.
NAMABC's 10th anniversary celebration was a blast!
It hosted the 3rd Mapuaworld International Grand
Reunion from July 30-August 1, 2004. Held at the
Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel in Burnaby, B.C, it
was well attended by over 300 alumni and guests from
Canada , U.S.A.( incl. Guam & Hawaii), Thailand and
the Philippines.

Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, President & CEO of Mapua
Institute of Technology was the guest speaker. The institute
was granted "full autonomy" status by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) meaning new programs can now be offered, and
new branches can be opened without undergoing CHED
approval. Another development was the institute's
filing of a formal application to the US-based
Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology
(ABET), for "Certification of Substantial Equivalence"
for EE/ECE/CoE programs and other academic programs
to follow. By obtaining an ABET Certification, better
terms of employment will be facilitated abroad for
MIT graduates.
The 3-day festivities were very memorable. Old
friends were re-united and reminisced of days gone by.
Talented performances from several alumni hailing from
Ontario, California and B.C. kicked off the event
during Fellowship Night on July 30. For avid golfers, the following morning was
spent golfing at Swan-E-Set Bay Resort & Country Club
in Pitt Meadows. Alumni from California, Illinois,
Michigan, Texas, Washington, Ontario, Alberta and B.C.
showed off their skills at the golf course. Non golfers and
other guests spent the morning by exploring the Natural beauty
of Vancouver by participating on the walking tour until afternoon. That evening,
guests "dressed to impress", ballroom danced the Gala
Night away. The final day, August 1, was spent at Second
Beach, Stanley Park, where a farewell picnic was held
to conclude the MAPUAWORLD 2004 and NAMABC 10th
anniversary.

MapuaWorld 2004 Grand International Reunion will be held in the beautiful city of Vancouver,
BC Canada on July 30, 31 and August 1, 2004 hosted by NAMABC.
The aim of these reunions is to promote professional fellowship among Mapuans around the world in the
year 2000 and beyond.

A North American umbrella organization (MapuaWorld Commission) was
established to serve as a link among all Mapuans around the world.
NAMABC extend our welcome to all Mapuans around the globe to join us at MapuaWorld 2004
to celebrate another grand reunion. Break away from the busy schedule of work and spend sometime to smell the roses, meet
old friends and reminisce the past. Enjoy the beauty of Supernatural BC. Visit Vancouver
where you can sail and ski in the same city. Drive our Sea to Sky highway and be fascinated
by the sceneries along your way.
Our plans include among other things a welcoming reception on Friday night, July 30; a round of golf for golf enthusiast in the
morning followed by a gala Dinner and Dance on Saturday, July 31 and will cap it off with a Fellowship picnic on Sunday,
August 1.
For those who have planned to stay for a whole week and spend their holiday in Vancouver, we have prepared a list of optional

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Mapuaworld 2004 committee takes pride in announcing the attendance of Dr. Reynaldo Vea (Mapua President and CEO)as our
main guest speaker on our Grand International Reunion. Dr. Vea will be discussing the current situation of and prospects for the old
alma mater.
To make our international reunion more enjoyable, we are employing the service of a Filipino Band to provide music both to our Fellowship Night and Gala Night. The Tropicana Band and DJ services will provide us the DJ for our Karaoke during the Fellowship Night. The Band will play for us during the Gala Night and will keep the Ball Room and Line Dancers on their toes. Modern music will be available for our younger guests so no one will be left out.
